Solar water heating system is a device that helps in heating water by using energy from the sun.
There are different types of solar water heaters.

FLAT PLATE SOLAR COLLECTOR

A flat plate collector is a solar panel device that uses solar energy to generate thermal energy. It converts solar power into thermal energy, i.e, cheaper energy utilizing water as an operating fluid.
We have two commonly used types;
1. Direct system.
2. Indirect system.
Direct systems heat water right from the sun while indirect system use a different fluid to transfer heat from the collector before heating.

HEAT PIPE SOLAR COLLECTOR

Heat pipes are heat exchanger that heat based on the phase change of the heat pipe working fluid.

We have two commonly used types.

1 Pressurized system.

2 Non-pressurized system.

Pressurized solar water heater is one that uses a pump to circulate water in the system or heat transfer fluid.

This kind of system is also called AN ACTIVE SOLAR WATER HEATER.

A non-pressurized solar water heater is one that doesn’t use pump to circulate water or heat transfer liquid in the system.

This system therefore depends on convention and gravity to circulate water

throughout the system.

HEAT PUMPS HOT WATER

Heat pump hot water systems are designed for all domestic water heating applications that utilizes the high efficiency benefits of heat pump technology. The integral systems combine a hot water storage tank with an efficient heat pump that generates heat from ambient air by utilizing the natural heat generating phenomenon of the gas evaporation/condensation cycle. This is transferred to the stored water by circulation through a coil type heat exchanger in the tank.
